Rise and fall?? Shirer was a historian, hardly a psychologist or psychiatrist. Not exactly an argument for Hitler being unique, or uniquely complex.
If Shirer had an argument it was that the German people itself was as much to blame for the reich as Hitler.
Do you REALLY need to resort to some self-appointed psychologist to comprehend that Hitler was a unique - and uniquely strange - individual?????
