Except its one queen and lots of lazy drones. I'm sure they discount the "queen" title and see her simply as a female that remains in the hive and cranks out larvae. Heck, their culture could easily be based on honeybee mimicry.
That "insect overlords" quote might be more relevant than we've realized thus far.

As a bee keeper, I can say they do become part of your family. They are fascinating to behold and God's design and handiwork are evident.
I can't imagine my outrage if someone stole my hive.
