i know it is late for most of you, but I was curious how your mushroom season was this year. Here in Minnesota I have had a banner year.
Too dry here in Southern Michigan.
Send me a private Freepmail message detailing precisely where you found them.
I’ll keep it a secret.
No morels, but the New Mexico peyote crop is far out dude.
There really is no better edible fungus in the world.
Soak them in salt water for a few hours than saute in butter.
I heard of couple dying from eating poison mushrooms...It was said they died of bad morals!
Okay, now I hate you. :) Too dry where we were. Nothing.
Boletus Edulis quartered and grilled over a wood fire with olive oil, garlic and oregano.
But I’ll never pass up a morel!
MUSHRROOOOOOOOOOOOM!
We found some in central illinois in late April. Not the best year nor the worst. Love the Morels.
Now I just wish the rain would stop. Can I send some your way?
It wasn’t super dry, just dry at the wrong time.
We got a quick shower today but it looks like we’ll get rain overnight.
We’re experiencing a “moreltorium” here in Idaho. Public lands are rotated to prevent over-harvesting. But, we’ve still got lots!
Had a great year here in Missouri. I guess the year after a huge drought brings them out in force. Found them mostly in birch groves this year. Also, lots of oysters-always found them while hunting in the rain.
