He needs a little more time. It has scared him and why wouldn’t it? Maybe he would be ready to talk about treatment if he got a second opinion?
Oh, he has weeks of appointments starting the 4th of June. He faints when they draw his blood...he will need to get over it.
The doctor laid it out, the consults probably won’t hold much of a surprise. The prostate is enlarged making it a poor candidate for radiation. Biopsy confirmed the cancer, so what to do? His answer is to observe, retest and watch. He’s too young for that. His father lived into his mid 80s, his mother is alive and well in her early 90s. He wants to die in his 60s? His brother may not live to see 60. At 56 he has stage 4 prostate cancer that has spread to his bones and lymph nodes. What is this with the waiting? I don’t get it. He has some serious denial going on.
