Apologies, this video dates from 2-6-09. It’s still funny.

The video says he’s a Scottish Fold, but I don’t think his ears are “bent” enough. Perhaps a cross? Whatever! He’s adorable. I particularly like him on the hardwood floors with the boxes.

Scottish Fold litters have both folded and perk-eared (straight regular ears) kittens in them. It's genetically harmful to breed folded ear to folded ear SFs, so breeders perpetuate the breed with straight-to-fold breedings. If Maru is indeed a Scottish Fold, he is merely a perk-eared one. That's why he doesn't have the characteristic folded ears. Perk-eared Scottish Folds are adorable in their own way, as Maru obviously demonstrates. So are Maine Coons, as MY kitty obviously demonstrates:

Not every Scottish Fold has perfect folds. The ones that don’t are pet quality. Still have the personality!
