There’s no such thing as a domestic cat. Some have just adopted humans to serve them.

Savannahs and Maine Coons are humongous, but I wouldn’t feel threatened by one even if it was really pissed. (I had a Maine Coon for 15 years). An 8 pound Siamese scares me more because they are true psychopaths with long memories.

“There’s no such thing as a domestic cat.”

Very true. The “domestic” cat has diverged very little from its wild cousin, the wildcat.

That's why I had welding gloves to put ours in the pet carrier for vet trips. And insurance that covered transfusions. Never owned another Siamese.

You’d be afraid of my Kitty. I don’t think she was full Savannah but it was the closest breed I could locate, trying to figure out what she was. Also, they look black; however in sunlight they are actually a very dark chocolate brown. Very pretty.

Those ears are prominent, as with the “light fur” going down from ear to eyes.

It was my favorite spot to kiss, when allowed, and she loved it.

You're right about cats not being domesticated. They're just socially adapted ferals.

But I take issue with you thoughts on Siamese. Over many decades I have a bunch of Siamese and none were anything about affectionate and sociable

They can be made crazy but they aren't born that way.

My latest Siamese likes people so much he comes and gets me when the doorbell rings and he hopes it's someone who's going to come in. No, they're great cats.

Siamese cats are not “psychopaths”, and they are neither frightening nor dangerous; they are gentle, predictable, and affectionate, more like dogs than cats of other breeds. The only ones who are not have been abused and fear humans; any animal that has been abused fears humans..

“An 8 pound Siamese scares me”

Always go male Siamese, fixed. I never had a bad male Siamese. They love everyone! Females...feh!

Our Maine Coon is very good natured until the vet assistant tries to take his temperature or a stool sample.

The poor girl looked like an extra on “Walking Dead.”
