You know, all the problems would have been solved if they had just cast the right Stark in the series... Ironman would have made a completely different outcome for the Red Wedding... ;)

That said.. Wish George R R Martin would STOP going on television, flying off to cons, republishing the same books (AGAIN), doing book signings, etc and WRITE THE NEXT DANG BOOK!

I believe his ticker will quit before we ever get the ending of this series. He’s just milking it now for all the cash he can get. I’ve vowed not to read another one.

Agreed. He would get a massive amount of money for the last book that answers a lot of major questions:
* Who is actually the long awaited prince?
* Who finally gets to sit on the throne?
* What happens to the dragons and danerys?
* Who is Jon’s mother?
* Does Littlefinger get the throne or a nasty death?

Wow, for a moment I thought I was listening to my husband. He has been complaining about the same thing for two years. Where's your next book, George?

* Who is Jon’s mother?

Okay, I would answer that for you; but, it would be kind spoilery -- so, do you want to know what the "speculation" is on that one?

I’ve heard the speculation that Jon is actually Ned’s nephew through his sister and the son of the dead prince. Another option is that he’s a bastard by Willa, a nurse.
If John is Lyanna’s son by Rhaegar, it creates a whole potential dynamic of the lost heir to the throne returning to it after the slaughter of the Starks by the Lannisters’.
Theoretical plot resolution, though unlikely on all fronts, Jon Snow marries Daenerys Targaryen, as two Targareyns, as well as an affront to all the noble houses that are feuding.

Lady Stoneheart. Don’t google it if you don’t want any spoilers. Just know, it will be awesome.

This show if maddening. All the good, decent people are killed off. The bad ones die of old age.

Perhaps she will show up at the very end of the episode. That would be a good way to leave it until next season.

:)

The five year wait for the current book was painful. But when George started trying to figure out what the actual penalties would be if he missed his deadlines for the two remaining books, I figured it'd be another long wait. But then, HBO picked up the series, and I thought, maybe? Now he's been recently quoted as saying that he's looking at the actual financial risk if he delays publishing the last two books.

I've still got money on 'HBO gets tired of waiting, hires someone else to finish the series, George throws a fit, especially after he realizes the contract allows this if he fails to publish. Makes a big stink about his series being stolen from him, few pay attention since they're busy reading books.'
