This would be great news if it was 2010 and not 2013

Are the Rangers ever going to get back to SPL level? Then, this would be a nice development.

Rangers going belly-up would be like the NY Yankees going bankrupt (if they keep paying for A-Roid, they will)

A few years ago Ajax (Dutch powerhouse) had a developmental school in Orlando...but closed it after a few years. Not a lot of interest in the area at the time...and the immigrants here come from mainly non-soccer playing countries

Yes, there are. Div3 champs last season, and the team Ally McCoist is putting together this summer could frankly win the SPL. Some good quality players coming in, deadwood going out.

The SPL is dying without Rangers. TV money and viewing figures down, attendances well down (esp at Celtic), the SPL and Scottish football need us back in the top league and quickly. Rangers absence is so bad its causing a league reconstruction simply in order to save the game in Scotland.
Without us in the top league, there is little or no interest outside Scotland and less inside.

Yes, Rangers-Yankees is a good analogy. We are the biggest club in Scotland (’the biggest institution in the country alongside the church’ someone once said) and we are one of the biggest clubs in Britain and Europe, and the world. And one of the oldest and greatest. Rangers problems has made world headlines from Japan to Brazil. Many people only watch the SPL for the Glasgow derby matches.

BUT almost all huge clubs have had problems, and this is the first in 140 yrs of our history (barring tragic incidents like 1971). The likes of Juventus, Man U, Liverpool, Fiorentina, Leeds and many giant clubs have had terrible patches, many almost dying completely. In fact Juve (arguably the biggest club in the world) and Fiorentina and Leeds all went through this same problem a decade ago. Yet today Juventus are Italian champions again. And still a soccer giant.

Within 2 yrs, Rangers will be back in the SPL. Within 5, we will start to dominate again (in fact, I believe we’ll win it the first year back). Within 10 years of today, imo Rangers will be back competing at the top in Europe, in the Champions League, beyond the group stages. Back to being in the last 32/16/8 of the CL or Europa League.
