Boy, 6, carrying Burger King bag mauled by pit bull in Queens

A pit bull mauled a 6-year-old boy who was carrying a fast food meal as he walked along a quiet street in Queens Monday, police sources and witnesses said. The helpless boy was holding a bag with two Burger King kids meals inside as he walked near the corner of 140th Ave. and 156th St. in Rochdale about 5:30 p.m.

The crazed canine suddenly broke free from its owner and attacked the boy, sources and witnesses said. The pit bull’s teeth tore into the child’s leg, and the beast wouldn’t let go. “The little boy could not stop screaming,” said Dawn Johnson, 44, who watched out of her living room window as the horrific scene unfolded.

As a friend of the boy tried in vain beat the dog off of the victim, the pit bull’s owner laid on top of the dog to shield it from the friend’s blows, witnesses said.

Darn P.E.T.A. pit bulls take their anti-meat campaign seriously.

Yet another excellent justification for concealed carry firearms.

Revelation 6:8

King James Version (KJV)

8 And I looked, and behold a pale horse: and his name that sat on him was Death, and Hell followed with him. And power was given unto them over the fourth part of the earth, to kill with sword, and with hunger, and with death, and with the beasts of the earth.

Bullish here on increasing animal attacks...

Seriously, the idiot tried to protect his dog as it was mauling a 6 year old?

I would have either shot the dog in the head at very close range, or found a bat or steel bar and caved its skull in to save the child. And would have done the same if it was my dog.

It takes a sick person to try and protect your own dog who is mauling a young child, instead of doing everything possible to stop the attack.

When the owner jumped on top of the dog to protect it, the friend of the boy should have, in the words of my hand-to-hand instructor from boot camp:" grab the double nut sundae and yank.

Then deal with the damn dog with whatever weapons you are allowed in that cesspool of a city.

A man in a pickup truck then jumped out of his vehicle and started to strike the pit bull with a piece of metal, witnesses said.

God bless that guy. I hope he "accidentally" hit the owner five or six times in the head with his pipe while he was hitting the dog.

If he had been carrying a McDonalds garbage bag the dog would have left him alone!

The dog knows good from bad!

Your noble instincts are a vestige of what was once the foundation of Western Society.

With God’s help, we escaped the Dark Ages and launched a free world.

Now we are fading lightposts.

Just a wild animal that needed killing.
beat the dog's owner (for protecting/shielding) & kill the G.D. dog.

The pit bull breed should be made extinct.

I agree. Instead we’ve got half the shelters in America filled up with them.

End the breed. I think FR’s going to need to start a category for Pit Bull maulings. Hard to keep track of them all.

So a vicious dog mauls a 6 year old and is joined by a pipe wielding citizen and saves the boy from serious injury or worse, and you take the opportunity to bash McDonalds?

Really?

Both the dog and owner should be euthanized.

DOG OF PEACE ALERT! All breeds are alike, as all true animal lovers know. Why just last Wednesday my aunt’s teacup papillon, Melinda-Mae, mauled two Neapolitan Mastiffs to death; ripped out the still-beating heart of the second in a single bite, and swallowed it, whole. In any case I blame my aunt, not the breed.

Pit Bulls don’t “sense vulnerability.”

They just attack, suddenly, and without the warnings you would expect from almost any other breed.

You never know when they will go off - and these attacks happen all the time.

The whole “cloud” of the breed variations are time-bombs, and as a former trainer who has known many “pit” owners I recommend that if YOU have one in your neighborhood, you help it disappear before it takes another pet or a child from you.
