In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of "Word for the Day".
mordacious mordacious \mawr-DEY-shuhs\, adjective
1. sharp or caustic in style, tone, etc.
2. biting or given to biting.
Example sentences:
She was hoping that neither Garth nor Otto would bungle and embarrass her and that we wouldn't be the brunt of some mordacious Page Six gossip column for arriving in an old car.
-- Brian M. Wiprud, Pipsqueak, 2004
Emma had almost made it into the safety of the kitchen when out of the dark, and away from the masses, Patrick appeared. "Well, well, well." His tone was mordacious.
-- Jane Sigaloff, Technical Hitch, 2005
Etymology:
Mordacious came into English in the 1640s from the Latin word mordāx meaning "given to biting."
The sentence must, in some way, relate to the news of the day. The Review threads are linked for your edification. ;-)

His boss? Even worse
Makes me call for a nurse
‘cause he’s arrogant, dumb, and loquacious
Probably. But coincidental. It’s the smog states in the northeast plus Cali, Oregon, Washington.
I wonder if I can drive in the carpool lane now? ;-)
GOOD! cutting caffeine would be far tougher for me than cutting down on wine.
on 66 here probably, prius go there with one person!
I don’t even know if PA has an exception for electric or hybrid cars.
But this is none of those anyway. Just a regular car that the state has “nudged” the manufacturers into “improving” to meet certain targets.
I’ll make you a deal. You drink coffee, I’ll drink wine. :)
I thought wine was good for your heart.
Yes, from the CBS eye. A for you.
Less than 90 days until football! A for you.
A+ for you, since they are all sequacious!
So did I. The cardiologist said that one or two glasses is good for the heart, but beyond that the results go the other way.
i honestly cannot recall when i have had more than two glasses of wine. if i have wine at all it’s not more than once a month or so. but i have a triple venti latte pretty much every day.
MrsTruth and I share a bottle of wine virtually every night. I get three glasses, she gets two. Might have to flip that around.
I don’t think I always knew that we were sort of outside the norm as far as alcohol consumption. xshub might have a beer if we go out to dinner, and on the rare occasion will have one at home in the evening. Not even once a week really, maybe a few times per month if that. My kids are pretty much the same way, but they are the ones that pointed out that we are fairly tee-totallerish. It was never a conscious choice, but even knowing that we are oddballs, I don’t feel obliged to pick up the pace either ; )
Pfee-eww!
Every day? Beware of the onset of A-fib. I got some PACs and they warned me off of caffeine. I only have a couple of glasses of iced tea in the mornings for breakfast if I go out for it. Otherwise, nada on the caffeine for me. I don’t want A-fib in my future if I can help it.
A friend of mine had an African Gray in college and she would laugh like an old woman. It was creepy. A+ for you.
