An 11-year-old Latino boy whose singing of the national anthem at the NBA Finals set off a barrage of racist tweets earned a roaring ovation in an encore performance before Game 4 between the San Antonio Spurs and Miami Heat on Thursday night.

You are ignorant.

Do you think that Texas was built by the folks from the Alamo?

You are a bigotted fool.

Mayor Castro was very interested in what he was wearing, mugging this like Eva Longhoria, who was all over it over being proud, “as a Mexican” by heritage.

They were very interested.

His parents were very interested in what he was wearing.

A lot of attendees were very interested as they are pressured to give over their city to the invasion, which, in many places is a English as a second language, and that’s in hotels, restaurants and various and many other places of business, catering to wealthy refugees of the drug war who charge around and push through schools, high end shopping areas and college campuses where they are driving, fabulous suvs. Escalades being choice, but confusing high school students who must fill out all standardized tests and the like with primary information informing whether they are Hispanic or white non Hispanic which may as well be do you want a scholarship or not, but don’t lie.

Many veterans in the audience care that their anthem is being sung by someone in foreign costume, not including some like his father who, with the mother, is a stage parent.

It’s the National Anthem.

Could we give the San Antonians a break or a little appreciation for putting up with watching this national fight waged by those who refuse to go down there and find out what is really going on?

There is no doubt in my mind that what Jay is predicting is true. It is already happening. And San Antonians are maligned by those who do not know the issue. And it’s not an issue as much as a crisis.

Watch that video. The audience does not know how to react.

They ought to pay attention to the San Antonians instead of looking down their noses.

Leno is correct in this satire.

It’s what those who care about what this kid is wearing are looking at. On either side of the issue.

It’s why Mayor Castro, the kids parents or any other adult would never have done this.

The locals were no doubt disgusted by the usury of these politicians over this child.

It’s why Mayor Castro, the kids parents or any other adult would never have done this.

I mean they never would have gone out and performed in heritage costume to sing our National Anthem.

They could not have done it. Besides it being patriotically improper, it would have been insulting.

Instead they sen a child.

Why didn’t Mayor Castro, who was all over this, go out with a group of La Raza’s to whom he is loyal, to sing?

He sent a kid. This went through his office, but he didn’t go out himself.

What I hate the most about this whole issue is how they’ve somehow managed to make it that if you are against illegal immigration, that you are against ALL immigrants, or those of non-”Anglo-Saxon” heritage But our ancestors went through the process and blended into the “melting pot”.

Now they want a balkanized “tossed salad”.

You got that right. The last time I was there for a four day stay I didn't hear one person speaking English in the hotel. Even the desk clerks, they spoke English as a second language. I think the hotel was a Doubletree. It was definitely part of the Hilton system.

That certainly isn't limited to just San Antonio.

Really, what the hell difference what the kid wore? Perhaps it is his best set of clothes. Perhaps HE chose to wear what makes him feel comfortable to perform in. Perhaps he believes he looks good in it. Should he have worn a tracksuit with a headband and bobo’s? He didn’t sing the Mexican anthem, he sang the American anthem. And quite well, too.

He is a Mariachi singer and this is the costume that he wears when he performs. He didn’t sing it in Spanish and I didn’t see him wearing or waving a Mexican flag. And I think he did a great job too.

10 Year Old Sebastien De La Cruz Sings National Anthem

Mexican-Americans who have been here for a few centuries are a huge part of Texas/US history, you can’t deny that....of course it’s a huge part of San Antonio history as well. Of course the press is going milk everything from what a couple of ignorant morons tweet.

And that is the problem. A few ignoramuses make some stupid comments and what should have been no big deal get’s turned into a controversy by people on both sides.

Yet, if you could show me a photo or relate an instance of someone singing our National Anthem in foreign country costume, and then during a time of threat, and sending a child out to do the job, I will be interested in your opinion.

US National Anthem sung by an American of Polish descent wearing a traditional Polish costume (starts at 2:20).

March at Cleveland Museum of Art for Polish Constitution Day

OK, not the best version ever but she tried and she got all the words right.

Local Irish Dancer Sings National Anthem at Cyclones Game (in Irish costume)

Americans of Indian descent performing the National Anthem with traditional Indian instruments. (Sorry for the bad video and audio quality but you can still tell the guy has a great voice.)

American National Anthem performed by Indian Artists

Star Spangled Banner .. Traditional Chinese Instruments NYC june 2012

Deidre Antonio sings National Anthem in Apache

And FWIW, not the National Anthem but the 45th Annual Veterans Day parade on the San Carlos Reservation. I see lots of patriot Americans, many of whom served in the military and many wearing Native costumes and performing traditional Native dancing – but all proud to be Americans and also proud of their Native American heritage.

Exactly...let’s keep focus on the real issue.....having no process in place to control who gets into this country.

Again, you show your ignorance.

I am not from Vermont.

Not only are you a bigot, you are a stupid bigot. And they are the worst kind.

I would suggest you back away from the computer. You might hurt yourself. There must be rodents somewhere you can hunt.

It’s too bad people from other parts of the country are so judgmental of San Antonians in favor of the illegal Mexicans.

It is truly a crisis in this country; they just don’t realize it yet.

Not any city, I would wager, is there any better assimilation of Mexicans or foreigners than San Antonio.

But now they are berated for not accepting bold refusal to abide by the law.

It is the law.

After that is adhered to then Mayor Castro can take his usury of children in this sociological battle and weild it.

Too bad people who don’t know the issue have a voice in the matter.

It is rude, you are rude.

It is fine to attack American patriots without realizing the issue, but do not call out La Raza loyal mayor Castro for putting this kid up to this task.

Yuk.

Step away from the computer, you might prove your ignorance further

It’s not the same thing and Mayor Castro knows it better than anyone, he is who turns this into something it is not.

It’s too bad people from other parts of the country are so judgmental of San Antonians in favor of the illegal Mexicans.

Is Sebastien de la Cruz an illegal alien? No.

Is Sebastien de la Cruz’s parents, including his US Navy Vet father illegal aliens? No

He wore the same type of Mariachi outfit he always wears when performing, one of the same outfits he wore while performing on America’s Got Talent. So what. Big freaking deal. He wasn’t singing in Spanish, he wasn’t wearing or waving a Mexican flag, he didn’t sing the Mexican National Anthem. He didn’t make any statements in support of La Razza. He simply sung OUR National Anthem and did a fine job.

After that is adhered to then Mayor Castro can take his usury of children in this sociological battle and weild it. It’s not the same thing and Mayor Castro knows it better than anyone, he is who turns this into something it is not.

And it wouldn’t have been an issue for Castro and his ilk to take advantage of and to push their agenda if it hadn’t been for the stupid, ignorant and yes, racist, low information types who see a kid of Mexican descent and automatically assume he’s an illegal. There are many Americans of Mexican descent that have been in this country as American citizens longer than many of our families.

To young Sebastien’s credit, he’s shrugged off the stupid comments saying: "When I started mariachi, I knew there was gonna be a lot of politics, and I'm just a proud American, to be honest." "With the racist remarks, it was just people how they were raised. My father and my mama told me you should never judge people how they look." “They don't know my life. My father was actually in the navy for a pretty long time, and I actually salute him today for that. I just wanna thank him and to be able to sing the national anthem." "People don’t know; they just assume that I’m just Mexican. But I’m not from Mexico. I’m from San Antonio, born and raised, a true San Antonio Spurs fan." "Please do not pay attention to the negative people. I am an American living the American Dream. This is part of the American life."

I posted many examples of Americans singing and performing the Star Spangled Banner, some in the traditional “foreign” costumes and some playing the traditional instruments of their heritage. I guess that the Polish American singing the Star Spangled Banner while wearing her traditional Polish costume or that Irish American girl singing the Star Spangled Banner while wearing her tradition Irish costume were also pushing a pro-illegal immigration stance?

ecite the Pledge of Allegiance over the loudspeaker in Arabic replacing “one nation under God” with “one nation under Allah.”

That's a pretty stupid thing to do. However, it should be pointed out that "Allah" is simply the Arabic word for God, and is used as such by Arabic-speaking Christians. So it would be pretty tough to recite the Pledge in Arabic without using Allah as the name for Deity.

If they recited the pledge in English, but using Allah instead of God I would think it more egregious.

Mexican is not a race, Hispanic is a language group.

And if I recall my history correctly, aren't a lot of them so-called "Native Americans"? Inca, Aztec, Toltec, etc. descendants. Nobody seems to want to deconstruct Pizzaro, only Columbus.
