Can she get it discharged in bankruptcy? She doesn’t seem like she can afford to pay it.
If he got five years she should get a minimum of ten years in prison.
The statistic I have read is that about 40 to 50 percent of rape claims are false.
Yeah Right, and I’m sure she will pay up right after Tawana Brawley pays up the money she owes!
Lets let bygones be bygones.
That’s nerve!
You know what ticks me off as much as anything? Her sending him a message saying, “Let’s let bygones be bygones”!!! The chutzpa of that! “I screwed you over, ruined your future, put you in jail for 5 years so I could win a multi-million dollar law suit. But let’s just forget about all that.”
Talk about a self-centered individual.
Anyone who knowingly makes a false accusation against someone else of a felony should have to serve TWICE the term the falsely accused actually served. Or 5 years. Whichever is longer. Also, if the falsely accused suffered additional sanctions, such as being put on a sex offender list, the false accuser should also suffer that sanction.
Exception as an incentive to come clean: If the false accuser fesses up in the absence of new exonerating evidence, they just serve as long as the falsely accused served. (This exception would not apply here — new DNA evidence helped clear Banks.)
Either case: NO EARLY RELEASE. Hard Time. PERIOD.
Finally, in death penalty cases where the sentence has been carried out, the penalty should be death.
Ooops, wrong case — not DNA evidence, but a secretly recorded confession by the witch. Still, that wouldn’t count.
Agreed. She ruined his life and stole 5 years from him. She should be punished in kind...times 2.
Where have you read that? That seems high.
Hell is a innocent man in prison.
Don’t remember where I read that but the study seemed legit. Might require more research.
This woman is evil. In addition to the obvious crime of ruining that man’s life, the witch has harmed innumerable women who really were rape victims. Does she not understand that even one provably false rape charge makes it even harder to get a conviction in a crime that is all too often he-says/she-says? Selfish, immoral people disgust me, and I hope she never lives this down and never meets anyone stupid enough to trust her for even one date.
And if she meets a real rapist who recognizes that her word is worthless? That would be a shame, and I hope it doesn’t happen. Still, I would find it hard to feel as bad for her as I do for her many victims.
according to a stat, 75 to 95 percent of rapes go unreported... so between that and the false claims, i wonder what the true numbers would be...
Excellent question.
I am a big fan of that and would include police, prosecutors, lab techs, MEs, etc. that withhold or tamper with evidence. You get the sentence you gave.
The liar got money from the school too!
This woman is evil.
Back in my paralegal days we were hired on a rape case where the guy got 30 years. To this day I believe he is innocent. They had dated a few times. She was more interested in him than he was in her so he kind of moved on. They ran into each other one night in a bar, she invited him over. He gets to her house (he had been there many times) the front door is opened and the glass door is unlocked because she is expecting him. He enters, finds her in bed. They have sex. He will spend the next 30 years in prison. Revenge must be sweet after being dated and dumped.
And what we knew and the jury didn't because it was inadmissible, she had done this to another guy a few years earlier. He made some deal and didn't go to prison. That would have been the one piece of information that would have exonerated a very bright, handsome young man.
How could she live with herself after that?
