Doesn’t phase me one way or the other...I grew up using the dreaded ‘N’ word and it was used to describe a certain color of people...
After the ‘N’ word became illegal everyone was supposed to use ‘Negro’ but someone didn’t like that either...
Then it was ‘Colored’...Colored people...Now, that’s a no-no...
Then we all went to ‘African-American’ which is stupid since there are plenty of ‘White-Africans’...And we wouldn’t dare call them African Americans...
Then it’s acceptable(?) to call them ‘Black’...But now many are protesting that because so many of them are not black, but different shades of brown...
Just sayin’...
Amen brother. I don’t care what color someone is, it’s how
they use it, sometimes, that bothers me. Sometimes on the
job site after yelling “Chupacabra” and “La Migra” I get
to listen to all the greengoat jokes. They know I don’t
care and they let them fly. Funny how their jokes resemble
Aggie and Pollock jokes.

When Deen became a spokesperson for Smithfield Foods, I emailed them to say no way, Jose, will I buy Smithfield ham because of her.
They have an annual contest at SF for the best Deen lookalike...

Saw her at a local casino one night. I work there. She was about half tanked, smoking and playing slots. I was totally unimpressed with her after that
This reminds me of one of my favorite restaurants in Alabama. The Cotton Patch had (or maybe still does?) waitresses dressed up like Aunt Jemima. I can’t remember waiters. They served the best onion rings which were more like shoestrings.
When my BFF married, her reception was at a prominent country club. All the wait staff were black. It’s not something I ever noticed until hubby started pointing it out. He was such an agitator. LOL Hubby grew up in a very white Midwestern small town. If there were any black persons invited to the wedding, I can’t recall. There may have been a few invited by the groom. He wasn’t the one with the country club affiliation. hah There was a restaurant that I often went to with my BFF’s family. All the kitchen staff were black. All the waitresses were white. The bussers were young black males. I bet the place is the same today as it was when I was born and when I was last there 21 years ago.
