In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of "Word for the Day".

plutolatry (ploo-TOL-uh-tree) noun
Excessive devotion to wealth.

Example sentence:
"He said this reflected the 'appearance of unbridled avarice -- the flowering of plutolatry'."
--John F. Copper & Ta-ling Lee; Coping With a Bad Global Image; University Press of America; 1997.

Etymology:
From Greek pluto- (wealth) + -latry (worship). Earliest documented use: 1891. Pluto was the god of riches in Greek mythology.

The sentence must, in some way, relate to the news of the day. The Review threads are linked for your edification. ;-)
Practice makes perfect.....post on....

plutolaty is no longer an excessive devotion to wealth, it is now merely a dwarf devotion to wealth...

The left decries right-wing plutolatry
They prefer devils: diabolatry
So what are the odds
The Obama’s are gods?
They bask in the mindless idolatry

Vince Flynn and James Gandolfini, seems we should await a third.

Well, we lost a wonderful conservative and then a liberal who was a wonderful actor. I guess we should anticipate an independent meeting his maker.
