In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of "Word for the Day".

plutolatry (ploo-TOL-uh-tree) noun
Excessive devotion to wealth.

Example sentence:
"He said this reflected the 'appearance of unbridled avarice -- the flowering of plutolatry'."
--John F. Copper & Ta-ling Lee; Coping With a Bad Global Image; University Press of America; 1997.

Etymology:
From Greek pluto- (wealth) + -latry (worship). Earliest documented use: 1891. Pluto was the god of riches in Greek mythology.

The sentence must, in some way, relate to the news of the day. The Review threads are linked for your edification. ;-)
Practice makes perfect.....post on....

Obama and Michelle Antoinette
Are worse than Hillary and Bill-
Their avarice and plutolatry
Make them grifters of skill

Be it gathering a pricey wardrobe
Garish enough to make us cringe
Or spending our millions on trips
They won’t waste a chance to binge

With the jet and fancy food,
As most of us are living tough-
We might get back some money
If we could sell all that stuff...

I returned from hiking in the woods this morning to find a field mouse had managed somehow to get in, and made it to the hall by the utility room before being summarily executed.

My guess would be that Yeti boy was the axman-he is huge, and a very efficient mouser-but all of the pets were standing near the deceased rodent-even the dog looked pleased. The cats got party mix, and there was a bacon treat for Husky girl-they earned their keep today.

Sleeping at my feet. He’s not eating well, unless I put some poached egg in the bowl with his kibble. Otherwise, he seems pretty good.

Based on the Russian leader's reactions whenever they get together, it's hard to say whether Obama's fawning attempts at "putolatry" are just offensive to Vladie, or he simply can't stand the POSeur like everyone else.

Plutolatry is in the playbook of the Dems
Who pretend to work for the poor,
instead they raid us in new taxes,
always wanting more and more.

They must fly off to Africa,
never mind the sequester.
They need idolatry as well
making us slave to their master.

Our land they have plundered,
they have taken our riches...
to glorify themselves and
to make us their bitches.

I think he’s not all that hungry. Especially with Barky McThunder drooling over his dish and threatening to polish it off if he won’t.

“drooling over his dish” is what both Titus and Yeti boy do if Midget girl doesn’t eat all the food in her dish right away-they stare at her-and the food-and practically lick their chops to intimidate her into leaving the kitchen.

I take her and the dish into the study when they do that-it lets her finish her dinner at her own pace, and reminds them to eat the food in their respective dishes...
