Your heartwarming story of the day: Anthony Nicodemo, the head coach for the Saunders High School basketball team in Yonkers, started to think about coming out of the closet after Jason Collins announced that he was gay in April. Last month, the 35-year-old went to an LGBT sports conference where he heard Collins speak firsthand. It was then that, despite his apprehensions about the reaction of his players and the risk of losing his position, Nicodemo resolved to finally come out. At a team meeting yesterday, he told a group of past and present players that he was gay. The players "literally embraced him," reports Outsports.
They also embraced him, less literally, on Twitter:
The three coaches at my junior high school (’66-’69) were so inordinately interested in looking at us that we frequently talked about it. One of them occasionally “inspected” us as we exited the showers. It was a little creepy at the time and now I’d consider it very, very inappropriate.
To the best of my recollection they never said or did anything that suggested availability for sex, but then if you weren’t the target you probably wouldn’t know about it.
I’m going to guess that his going to a LGBT or whatever it is to indicate they’ll do anything that moves pretty much answered any unanswered questions anyone might have had on the subject. Because I guarantee that he noted down the attendance at the conference for his continuing education requirements with the district.

The parents of these kids can either pull their kids from his presence/school or accept the consequences when one of them gets assaulted.

Oh, it will. People who aren’t gay, or don’t come out an announce they are all for it will be shunned and fired from their job.
This guy should coach the girls team and a dyke should coach the boys team. Problem solved.

I’m there with you. As a retired coach, we’re all hired to be fired if we don’t win. This guy now will pull out the sexual orientation card if they try to fire him.
