Thanks for your kind words. I have a few obstacles standing between me and a new dog, unfortunately. I’m recovering from knee replacement surgery and it really isn’t a good time to have a new pet underfoot. After this knee is recovered, I still have to have the other one done, so I am looking at almost a year until I could cope with a new animal.
Also, my mom is in assisted living in CA. She’ll be 99 in 6 weeks and could be leaving us at any time. I’m managing her affairs and will have to clean out and sell her house, so a new dog is not in the plans any time soon. Maybe in about 2 years...
Ah yes, I understand completely. I have some similar issues, but they are not as pressing as what you described.
Looking at my experiences with dogs in my life, it seems to me that when the time is exactly right, the Lord will send the one to you that you need.
I still do not have a new one yet, I am just trying to get the ball rolling. In the meantime I am just reliving the life with my beloved dog from day 1. Even though I must say walking that road in my mind is not easy, it’s still very raw. That dog enriched my life to a point that I cannot even describe, and I hope that I did the same for him.
