General Motors and Michigan, Starbucks and Washington, Walmart and Arkansas, Apple and California.
A new map sweeping the Internet entitled the Corporate States of America lists the brands, albeit subjectively, that the creator, Steve Lovelace feels best fits each of the 50 states of the union.
The criteria for each brand were that it is still based in the state of origin and that of course is still in business as of 2012.

Proud to be born in the Anheueser-Busch state, grew up eating burgers and fries at Sonic, and settled my roots in the state of Coca-cola :)
These days, London is more famous for curry than fish and chips.
But London remains one of the great financial centers of the world.
Dr Pepper and Whataburger are what's missed the most by family who've had to leave the Lone Star state.

I would have assumed they’d pick Target for us, but I guess they went with Pillsbury.
I had no idea that Saks was based in Alabama; I figured it was New York. Maybe it moved?
Also, New Mexico: I have never heard of Allsup’s.
NY and NV...it’s easy to find Mr Pibb, Dr Pepper...not so much.
I take issue with some of the choices. Bank of America, which represents North Carolina, started in Los Angeles.
Florida should be represented by a sugar or fruit juice company.
California, the Wine State, should be represented by a winery such as Galleano or Filippi (I’m partial to the Cucamonga Valley).
And one usually doesn’t associate Wyoming with tacos.
Really??? I used to live in New York for a few years, and Dr Pepper was everywhere, whereas I don’t think I EVER saw Mr Pibb. We have plenty of both up here in Minnesota.
