YES!!! I got my 1099, but the business went bankrupt. Then the tax place decided that I made less than I made. As I said, I can try and get records of payments made (which sometimes was in cash, and gave a receipt for... which has mysteriously disappeared... and that’s where the issue is I believe) or just pay it.
I moved out of state since then (two years ago) and God only knows where those receipts are.
My fault, I admit it. But dang.
By “tax place”, I mean the accounting firm that worked for the business I worked for. Seems they found a way to include less income on the bet that I couldn’t find my receipts.
They bet right.
