Great picture of the best big league receiver ever, Johnny Bench!!! I believe at full throttle Sparky’s ‘Great Eight’ everyday position players of the ‘75 and ‘ 76 teams would compare to any other MLB outfit ever fielded. If Lou Gehrig had not become ill in 1938 and was at anywhere near his usual numbers and was able to play the full ‘39 season healthy, the ‘39 Bombers record may have been off the charts.
