Lol, I have to laugh st the people saying, if you have a well all you need is a rope and bucket. My well consists of a 4 inch pipe coming out of the ground.

I have a deep well pipe and an electric pump. That does not change the fact that if power is off there is no way I can think of to get the water out since the pump is way down there.

A well for survival would be a hand dug one just like we had in the late 40s.

I don’t know much about it, but ours is like that, too. It’s quite a ways down, but I actually believe my husband could make it work with a rope and a bucket! I, on the other hand, would be depending on bottled water and probably a bucketful of whatever rain water I could catch. We have discussed getting some sort of hand pump...but right now I’m angling for a nice generator.
