There was a thread discussing this and FreeRepublic took it down. Is the topic of gay catholic priests now out of bounds on FreeRepublic.
This isn’t Catholic bashing. This is the Catholic Church admitting culpability. And FreeRepublic won’t hear it. What’s up with that?
Interesting article, if poorly written. I see that Abp. Timothy Dolan, who gets little respect here on this forum, was working hard to clean up the hideous mess left behind by known homosexual Rembert “The Vandal” Weakland.
God Bless the people working to clean this up. You can’t clean it up by ignoring it.
You also don’t clean up a homosexual abuse problem by calling it ‘pedophilia’.
The so called “pedophile priests” mentioned repeatedly in the article do not exist. What there were was conspiracy of homosexual priests that had sex with young men in their late teens. The clique of homosexual priests was part of the administration of Archbishop Weakland, a homosexual who secretly gave $500,000 in church funds to his homosexual lover. Archbishop Weakland was removed in 2002. Bishop Dolan was sent in to try to clean up the mess. The lawsuits related to priests who were part of Weakland’s group of homosexuals who secretly infiltrated the priesthood. Weakland protected these homosexual priests.
The MSM will never say anything negative about homosexuals. They dishonestly use the word pedophile to describe homosexual priests.
