Fathers allowed cowards to teach their sons.

Guess what the sons learned ?

We have had lots of war and destruction. We just seem to have forgotten the price we paid of the bits of peace we’ve enjoyed.

A nation of well-informed men who have been taught to know and prize the rights which God has given them cannot be enslaved. It is in the region of ignorance that tyranny begins.

This morning I went and raised the flag in front of my house. I looked up and down the street and saw not one other flag. Intrigued, I got my dog and we went for a walk through the neighborhood. There were no other US Flags flying but there was one of those gay rainbow flags flying from a house on a side street. I realize this is Northern California but come on! Indeed, how did this sad state of affairs come to be?

Simple question:

Simple Answer:
(Look out! Here it comes!)

We’all became lazy! Lazy in accepting our duty as CITIZENS, of being diligent with what went on, at ALL levels. We allowed, in silence, the worst class of Americans (politicians), to accept by fiat, an annointing to take the “burdensome duty” of running the country, and thereby, runnung US, at municipal, state, and federal levels.

We’all became silent. Silent in the hope that the next election, ‘we could get rid of that ‘x’’, and hopefully elect someone who steps forward, FOR US, that will do a job more along the lines of ‘what should be done’. In our silence, we’all gave approval to whatever ‘x’ said, did, voted for, and thereby, secured ‘x’s’ position for futre tenure.

In our laziness, and our silence, the 17th Amendment put the turn on ‘we’all’, by removing the governor’s hand from firing said elected ‘x’, and placing them as direct federal workforce members.

Now, today, July 4th, 2013, we allowed those who have grown up under LBJ’s ‘Great Society’, with all the fine tuning done by more appointed/annointed ‘x’s’ since then, to actually have a vote that would effect the rest of ‘we’all’, who actually do work, pay our unfair share of taxes, and are working for a financial future, or in that financial future, now.

“Yeah but, yeah but .... How do we fix it?”

Remember, these are my rantings, and not to be fixed in stone, since it is said we old geezers can’t keep our stories straight, or so Obamadamadingdong says.

An impossibility would be, as was done with all of The Royal Governors of the 13 States, a midnight visitation, with an immediate removal under guard (or worse).

Since all elected Senators and Congressmen with over one term have ‘lost their virginity’, and have become corrupted, force them to adbdicate their position, immediately, and as a whole, without a whisper of violence, would be nice. If We The People attempt to put a national referendum for term limits on these folks, you might know where that will end up, and so do I... the galactic bit bucket circular file 13.

Repealing the 17th Amendment would be nice, but We The People need a majority of folks, with stones, who would do this great thing. During this, I would definitely enjoy watching state governors squirm, since they would have more attention paid to them, and how quickly they get bought, too.

Well, that’s a start.

Two reasons: first there was a fatal compromise with slavery. The second is that we are a victim of our own success. The results of Science made doubting God popular so the stability such beliefs use to offer is a fading memory.

Not surprised to hear you're in NorCal (the place of my birth). I'm sure my dear old dad is the only one flying Old Glory in his San Jose neighborhood today. It's just such an unseemly display of jingoistic nationalism, you know? /s

Here in Texas, my entire city is festooned with American flags.

Public education, specifically the liberal takeover of K-12 curriculum.

Both of my kids—one a HS graduate, the other a HS Sophomore next year—would know nothing of the Constitution, the Declaration or the other founding documents were it not for their dad and me. Odds are they were part of only a handful of kids with intact homes and parents who are both more educated than the teachers and more involved than the administrators.
