Not judging by the number of Ethiopian restaurants that have opened and flourished in the DC Metro area in recent years. Dunno about Somalia. Ethiopia’s success may be due to Italian influence, as Vietnamese food reflects the French.

Well, heartwood posts a reply that syncs with yours (and sounds mighty tasty, like a Big Kahuna burger) but exported restaurants and what you might find in a native village are hardly an equal comparison. I'll take the Sam Kinison approach.

And no one has mentioned haggis yet.
