Jim Quinn, WPGB Pittsburgh, has been mentioning this. He phrases it as the contract with XM expires and CC doesn’t want to renew.
Not sure what the case is but I have never been a fan of Sat radio or HD for that matter. The marketing plan never made sense to me. Where do they get original, quality content?
Who is Rush with?
are you going to equip my truck to get the Blues 24/7 if I decide to cancel to make you feel better?
Interesting, especially since I recently learned that Bain Capital now owns Clear Channel.
This is a negotiating tactic.
It happened with Fox News and Sirius/XM not long ago.
If you have any device this is clear channel. http://www.iheart.com/mobile/
I’m surprised satellite radio has lasted as long as it has.
You are missing out. XM carries FNC on channel 114, a great opportunityto keep up with the network without subscribing to cable, Satellite TV and other pro-demokrat organizations.
XM Patriot channel 125 carries Andrew Wilkow, NRA Radio, Cam And Company and a lot of other great Conservative voices.
Not sure what your fuss is about. Wilkow comes on at the same time as Rush, and his program is actually a lot better. Wilkow takes more calls, has fewer breaks, and plays fewer ads than Rush. Mark, Rush and Sean almost seem to have 50% of their 3 hour shows dedicated to ads, whereas guys like Wilkow certainly do not.
And I dumped them after they dropped FoxNewsTalk earlier this year. It was the 3rd time in 5 years.
I now have Pandora and a couple of other apps including FoxNewsTalk.
$36 bucks a year and it’s ubiquitous to any device I own.
All I do is login on my phone, computer, laptop, Ipad, Nook, etc and Viola’!
Skip that paying $150+ per year for each vehicle.
Besides, I can create my own channels and heck, the 80’s channel on Pandora plays music I actually heard, unlike Sirius which often played huge swaths of music I never heard.
Same for Country, 90’s, etc.
Sirius sucks now that there are more alternatives.
Since AM illegally mailed several million people bogus bills then sent them to a “collection agency” which were in criminal cooperation with XM to get people to sign up, we dumped ALL of our XM contracts including several aircraft subscriptions. Screw SiriusXM!
Cancelling their service is easier said than done, at least in my case. I spent nearly an hour last month with “Customer Service Reps” both on the phone and on an online chat, both of whom claimed they had no way to cancel my service unless I was able to give them the phone number I gave when I first signed up- a now long-gone and long-forgotten cell phone number from four years ago. I’m not able to give a Radio ID since I only subscribe to listen online and on my iPod. Both said without that phone number, they were unable to cancel my account. Maybe I’ll just dispute the charges to my credit card next...
I canceled it for my car radio.. and they were a pill about doing it.. Kept asking me if I wanted to sign up for one promotion after another.. Very Annoying! I should have canceled altogether, but I’m holding out til August.. That is when they will be dropping ‘Coast to Coast am’. After that I’ll have use for them.
lousy line up and poor classical and conservative talk radio options made me drop it like a hot potato after the trial period
Are you saying they are going to cancle Patriot 125?
If they do, I have three radio subscriptions that will be cancelled.
