I’m ashamed to say it, because I love biking, but road bikers are among the most arrogant people on earth. Only runners come close to matching their self-righteousness.
Sometimes as I pass an especially arrogant one, I’ll blast the horn just as I’m right next to him.
Come on, runners aren’t nearly the pains in the butt that cyclists are, are they?
I’ve put in my miles as both, and the cyclist attitude re: cars on the road has always bothered me. Their view is that they are vulnerable to cars and because the only carbon dioxide they’re emitting is from their lungs they are morally superior, so they are entitled to go against lights, swarm intersections, ride abreast so as to keep from being passed, etc., etc..
