INDIANAPOLIS - Police are looking for those involved in the fatal shooting of a 16-year-old boy shortly after the Fourth of July fireworks show in Indianapolis ended. Monquize Edwards was shot outside Circle Centre Mall about 11:30 p.m. Thursday and died a short time later at Wishard Memorial Hospital. At the time, downtown was filled with large crowds of people leaving the fireworks display.
The area where the shooting happened has been plagued by youth violence in recent months. Police and community leaders have been looking for ways to quell that issue. Police said they aren't sure what led to the shooting, and they don't know how many shots were fired.

There are numerous reasons for the gun violence. Authorities say they range from drugs and money to retaliation for an earlier confrontation, or even perceived acts of disrespect. Chief Hite mentioned one shooting between young adults, that began with an argument over an iPod between two children.

Killing over cell phones, perceived insults, tennis shoes, i-Pods, cars, or other trivia has become the norm in many inner cities.
It will never be right or acceptable IMHO.
Put a shoot on sight curfew on all black thugs. Problem solved.
Indianapolis has been an absolute crime mess this year. A higher murder rate even than Chicago, shockingly enough. Governor Pence needs to put his foot down and send in the Guard if the local PD refuses to control the situation.
