When I read "vintage wooden yacht" in the same sentence with "shredded sails" I cringe.

A steel hull won't win the race, but it won't break apart, either.

Not that a steel boat can’t sink....I don’t want to come across as some knowitall. God bless all the sailors at sea. When you are on the land and the wind is howling and the rain is lashing, imagine being out in 25’ waves with twice the wind.

Still, I’d take that fate over waking up in an old folks’ home stuck with needles and tubes. Anyday.
