Is that a red flag or a yellow card?

It would take a lot more than that for me.

I’m convinced a seventy-five hour match of checkers would be more exciting.

Imagine betting on the game and winning and then Vegas cancels all wagers. Talk about having a bad day.

Whichever team didn’t have a player killed?

I remember a scene from “The Longest Yard” where Bugler Dobbs from F-Troop is telling Burt Reynolds “Down here we take our football seriously”.

So is this what they mean about soccer being such a passionate game? We have rowdy NFL fans who may bite an ear here and there or knock someone unconscious from time to time but have you ever heard of an NFL ref or player being decapitated or butchered by angry fans or each other? Back in 1985 British hooligans caused a mass stampede during a European Cup final between Juventus (Italy) and Liverpool, which resulted in the deaths of 39 Italian fans. Hmmmm. Never heard of that happening at Lambeau Field, Giant Stadium, Soldier Field, or the Meadowlands during a football game. Soccer may be the world’s most popular sport but I’m glad it takes a back seat to our major sports here. Gees, and the rest of the world thinks we’re barbarians?

In the NFL the players keep the game on the field and save the killing for off the field.

I agree. I have spoken to many hard core soccer fans who think it is the best sport in the world. I think they are out of their rabid a$$ minds. Cricket is more exciting than soccer.

If that’s an amateur match, I wonder what a professional one is like.

I’ve never seek a cricket match. I’ve seen them stand there and goof around, but no real competition and such. I’d like to some time.

What is it about socker? They run down the field one way. They run down the field the other direction. One guy picks up the ball and they’re off again.

I think the fans should get cards too. They could hold up a “stuff it” card. They could hold up a “booring”, “wake me”, and “ZERO!” card too.

They should get dentists to come volunteer and do free work on the fans to lighten things up a bit.

I am a hockey fan, first and foremost, my Chicago Blackhawks just winning the Stanley Cup again. Now that is fast and hard hitting. After seeing that, how can anyone enjoy all those 0-0 scores? I would rather watch the grass grow, than watch soccer.
