Is Brazil much different than the rest of South America?

Its blacker.

Around 8- 10 percent pure African

And 40-50 percent mulatto....though half those would deny that

Very few pure Indians but likely 25-30 percent have some Indian blood

Brasil has highest Jap population outside Japan anywhere

Most whites in south....opposite of here though south there is also most conservative culturally

Most pure blacks northeast

Brazil dominates SA....sorta....but Portuguese vibe is looser than Spanish

Brasil is simply more relaxed

Demographically it is a bit like Venezuela

Colombia is more Andean...and more serious organized issues

Brasil shares Latin American problems of the poor being huge percentage.....corruption rife.....crime out of hand

Argentina....Chile and Uruguay are the most civilized and advanced but still lag behind what we were

Myself I prefer Colombians....they are tough.....

Great looking women....strong Castillian culture....many climates....great mountains and agri lands

Beaches etc

But there is always that nagging LA Violencia

Brazil also has traffic that makes Atlanta or LA seem easy

Folks who can commute around from heliport to heliport in Sao Paulo

Its a cool place....man I had a blast there but its fairly ungovernable

It ain’t north America or Pacific tiger or Europe

Second tier and falling

Which is why so many are coming here

Is prefer though to say India
