I was born in Spain and lived there for 22 years (now I’m a proud US citizen), so I am familiar with the Gibraltar issue. I have always believed that Spain’s position is extremely hypocritical. As long as Spain holds on to Ceuta and Melilla on Morocco’s coast, she does not have the right to complain about Gibraltar.

I find the whole Gibraltar issue amusing.

Two dying welfare states squabbling over some abstract geographical issue.

It is purely a geographic issue, as the residents of Gibraltar overwhelmingly want to remain with the British.

Everybody knows the nanny states aren't going fight each other over this.

At best all Spain can hope for is to try to get the Brits into feeling guilty enough to give.
