I would advice you to study military history. During WWII Russian T-34 tanks was simple but way better than US Shermans and German Panzers. Their fighters (after 1943)was superior killing machines that was feared by German pilots. AK-47 is more reliable and way better than M-16( my personal combat experience).Never underestimate your opponent.

True. Although this is fiction, in one role playing game I've played in, Twilight: 2000, the person running the game had in his world history where an F-22 was shot down going against a Cuban MiG-17 or was it a MiG-15. I believe anything's possible. BTW, Twilight: 2000 was a role playing game, albeit "alternate history" where NATO and the Warsaw Pact (along with Red China) gets into an atomic World War III from 1995 to 20xx.

The key thing to is that if supply lines were disrupted or if the SHTF so much, planes like the F-22 and tanks like the M-1 would take a hit eventually since they are maintenance hogs whereas it would be much easier to maintain something like a MiG-15/17 or a T-34. Also in the case of the T-34, the Russians made so many of them, they can rush a superior opponent and come out on top. This is known as a "zerg rush" on the TV tropes website.

Getting back to the old Twilight: 2000 game, in many games, you had planes like the Sabre Jet, Super Sabre and the FJ-1 Fury (and many WWII planes) and so on return to frontline service as well as the F-4 being towards the top end.

Good point that many so called “experts” on this site have a tendency to ignore.
My late Father was a WWII fighter pilot in the Red Army with 25 confirmed kills. Two times Hero of the Soviet Union, two Orders of Red Banner,3 Red Stars and about 30 medals. He told me many stories about WWII but always had a special place in his heart for ground crew.
