Half of the show was in Spanish with English subtitles. I haven't seen it, but isn't it set on both sides of the southern border? Using Spanish with English subtitles may just be for "realism."

Haven’t watched it yet. It’s sitting on my DVR. The only reason I recorded it was because it’s based on a Danish/Swedish program of the same name: Bron/Broen (2011). In the original series, a woman’s body is found on the bridge that connects Denmark and Sweden. Same scenario: body parts from two different women, cops from each country thrown together to investigate. A second season of the Danish/Swedish series is airing this fall. I managed to find the first series with hard-coded subs on a torrent site a while back.
