Modern drama is based on the idea that no one is a good guy.

I started watching it. Got about 2 minutes in. Unwatchable.

Anyone know if “The Bridge” is any good?

SyFy’s Defiance has grown on me. Its got sort of a 2043 western feel to it. Nolan is the classic good guy lawman with a less than stellar past during the past war.

I think most FReepers would love a town like Defiance with full on in your face freedom right down to the freedom to ignore what we don’t like.

I like The Mentalist because the stars are flawed but basically decent people. I read somewhere that the show has a higher-than-normal percentage of older, conservative, and Republican fans, even though the show is predictably liberal in some ways. But in others, it is not - Lisbon, for example, wears a crucifix and prayed the Hail Mary in one episode when her life was threatened. And Madeline Hightower, an off-and-on character, was depicted saying a traditional grace before a meal with her children. And some of the criminals are actually minorities, although many are rich, white people. And there is a lot of humor in the series.
