We’ve been harvesting cukes for quite a while now. This is our first good crop of cukes since 2010. We had no luck in 2011 just grew a little, wilted and died, and 2012 was the drought and heat. Since I still have relish and bread and butter pickles from 2010, I am just making dill pickles this year.

I am doing spears, whole pickles, and slices for burgers. These can be made into sweet pickles by adding sugar to the jar, or even make relish after the fact using a food processor, if I should need to before next year.

I got some cukes last summer in spite of the heat and drought. Made a whole batch of dill burger slices. I’m out of butter pickles so those are first on my list soon as I have enough cukes to make the mess!
