I think a lot of people continue to believe that going to law school and becoming an attorney is still some credential of intelligence. It is not, it used to be, but not for some time. Law schools nowadays pass almost anybody who has the money to pay the tuition and some bar exams(DC for example) have been dumbed down for political reasons. That’s not to say there aren’t a lot of smart lawyers, there are, but a law degree is not a guarantee of much.

I almost went to law school. I had four lawyer friends write letters of recommendation on my behalf. All four of them handed me the letter and said “If you do this. You will end up regretting it eventually.” Everyone of them hated it. I guess that’s why so many lawyers become politicians. That’s the only thing they’re really qualified to do other than practice law.
