"Tyreese and sister Sasha joined the survivors at the prison for season 4, but there will be a fresh new face as well. The name attached to that face is Bob Stookey, a character from both The Walking Dead comic book and The Road to Woodbury novelPlayed by Lawrence Gilliard Jr. (The Wire), the TV version of Stookey is a former Army medic. But unlike the comic version, this Stookey does not hail from Woodbury. Instead, he is found by Daryl Dixon about a week before events pick up in season 4. “His backstory is not entirely the same as in the comic and the novel,” explains new showrunner Scott M. Gimple. “I think he’s seen things go bad over and over, and winding up in this stable place doesn’t shake him from his experience. He struggles with that.”

“You can see there’s something deeper and darker that’s going on with this character, just from the first episode,” says Gilliard. “We don’t really know what it is. We just know he’s got some issues that he’s dealing with.”

I’d have issues too if I was trying to survive in a zombie apocalypse, but it seems Stookey is indeed “haunted” by his past, according to Gimple ....."

Sure looks like they’re going to find some kind of military encampment or vice versa.

Did Gilliard’s father used to play the private detective on Matlock?

Tyreese was also in ‘the wire’, another great show that is off the air after a 6 season run.

So excited! I see some elements straight from the comics.

I laughed at the scene with the car backed up over the zombie bodies, spewing out gore from the back.
