Dennis Farina - Dead

Dennis Farina -- who starred as Det. Joe Fontana on "Law & Order" -- died today in Scottsdale, Arizona after suffering a blood clot in his lung. He was 69.

Farina is a Hollywood legend -- who appeared in tons of classic films and TV shows including "Get Shorty," "Snatch" and "Midnight Run." He also appeared in HBO's series "Luck."

It was such a sleeper hit but probably my favorite deniro movie. the scene on the train with the fried chicken. And the mob boss in the limo scene was probably scarier than the whole corleone family combined.

I’ve seen it at least a half-dozen times but it’s been some years now and much of it is a blur.

The old crop sprayer, the freakout on the jet (prefiguring Rainman, right?), the terrible sorrow in DeNiro’s former home, Grodin’s relentlessly infuriating snivel...ha...too much.

I gotta watch it again soon.
