I read a lot of layman-level science (and science fiction...), with a heavy emphasis on astronomy, and have some college background in physics and math, but I've never had a career in science.
Life doesn't always work out as one plans in one's youth. If it did, I'd have a dozen or so Hugos and Nebulas sitting on my shelves, instead of other people's Hugo & Nebula winners...and there'd be a time machine in the basement. *<];-')

This is why Britain hired astrologers in WWII to predict Hitler's actions...Then they should have seen Rudolf Hess coming. The stars in May of 1941 were pretty bold. :)
A revealing description of the Nazi take on astrology is here, written by an astrologer who had it from the horse's mouth - Himmler's:

Wulff wrote "Zodiac and Swastika," which is online there. He was an astrologer who did time in...wait for it...Ravensbruck!

For the record, that psychotic rant was a concise summation of the research of Bertram Forer, who, in 1948, proved conclusively through meticulously designed experiments that astrology is nothing but pseudoscientific hokum.

Unless you know of some four cornered sphere, the Bible says the earth is flat. There is a 3 dimensional object that does have 4 corners. It is generally 4 triangular shapes in the form of a pyramid. You have a triangular base and 3 triangular sides.
You can see them at gaming stores as 4 sided die.

I’ve never had a crow sit on my head. I have, however, had one take a dump into my car through an open window. We’re talking remarkably copious amounts of crow diarrhea. It happened while I was sitting in the car eating lunch. I didn’t commit suicide, but probably only because it didn’t occur to me at the time.

That would be cool if the crow just sat there.

“Geez...I read it as a cow sat on his head.”
If that had happened, there’d probably be no need for him to kill himself.

well, think about it. Seriously.
How many people do you know who’ve had a crow land and sit on their head even once? Twice is beyond coincidence and must mean something karmic to the one whose head is a bird stand.
I doubt that one person in a billion could actually interpret this correctly. We must find the ONE. Someone who can change the tides, bring hope to the poor, and ...uh oh.
Nevermind.

My fleeting thought as i misread the title was, it could happen...the guys are gonna make my life a living hell with the razzing...but it could happen. Chicks will be a little off putting..but I could explain...it could happen, no need to go to extremes over it. It could happen.
This is how my mind works after a 12 hr work day.

Did I say that? No I said: "There is a 3 dimensional object that does have 4 corners. It is generally 4 triangular shapes in the form of a pyramid. You have a triangular base and 3 triangular sides.
You can see them at gaming stores as 4 sided die."
seemed to be saying that the scripturally Earth was flat. I pointed out your obvious err that here is a four corned three dimensional object.
This is the part where you say that you are sorry and should have been more precise in your word usage.

When that crows brings him back in a year to take care of unfinished business he’s gonna feel awfully silly.

Conquistador is obviously oblivious of the common uses of literature in expressing opinion.
So, apparently, are you.
Stirling is a poor example of a sci-fi author; all of his work lacks realism.
