In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of "Word for the Day".

apercu \ˌa-pər-ˈsü\ noun
1. a brief survey or sketch : outline
2. an immediate impression; especially : insight
3. a hasty glance, a glimpse

Example sentence:
I could not figure out how to make the cedilla accent mark for apercu. Extra credit for anyone who can teach me how to do it.

Etymology:
French, from aperçu, past participle of apercevoir to perceive, from Old French aperceivre, from a- (from Latinad-) + perceivre to perceive — more at perceive First Known Use: 1828

The sentence must, in some way, relate to the news of the day. The Review threads are linked for your edification. ;-)
Practice makes perfect.....post on....

Are you using Windows?

Either use the character map and cut-n-paste or turn on your num lock, use the numeric keypad and hold down the alt key.

Type in the code (0231 for this one) and release the alt key.

It has been amusing to watch the pundits try to deliver an apercu of Obama’s never-ending speech yesterday.
