In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of Word for the Day.
Rules: Everyone must leave a post using the Word for the Day in a sentence.
The sentence must, in some way, relate to the news of the day.
The Review threads are linked for your edification. ;-)
Practice makes perfect.....post on....

It’s FRiday, let’s rock and roll!
Hey, that’s the cartoonist from my morning paper!
so you already saw it?
Obama has been practicing revanchism on whites, Republicans, and Christians since taking office — not necessarily in that order.
Isn’t that what happens when you have two sliced truck tires?
....she looks so innocent, but I hear she terrorized the kiddies all day, guess this fearsome puppy is scary.
A++ Where are you these days, Robt?
Obama lusts after revanche
And his methods make patriots blanch
He recalls every slight
From his foes on the right
Makes us miss Reagan’s smile at his ranch
America demands Justice for the Fallen of Benghazi!
Ah, I do miss Reagan. A+++
A++ Nothing phony to the 4 dead.
She is adorable!
What a mess that is. A+++
So, if you have $500,000, you can buy a green card from Hilary’s brother and Terry McAuliffe. What a scam.
You will be “investing” in his phony electric car company, which will be producing 1 million cars per year 5 years from now.
I read this article yesterday and it was the first time I really saw any details about this McAuliffe thing.
The same Rodham brothers who had were in that seedy PA lake scandal.......I still laugh about that.
Just saw in the local news that a bobcat terrorized a neighborhood and attacked a man. He needed stitches. The DEC supposedly trapped it and killed it. Rabies is feared. This is near me.
I like the idea that, with no existing factory or dealers, they are going to be selling 1 million cars.
For 2012, the combined Hyundai/Kia group sold about 1.2 million cars in the US, Nissan just under that. Those companies have been in the US for decades. They are going to match that from scratch?
With a 2 seat electric car that goes 35 mph?
the Rodham brothers are brazen scam artists....not quite as classy as billyjeff, but they do try.
Your puppy is too cute!
The emperor’s love of revanchism
Means that he cracks the whip
On the backs of all his minions
When they let his narrative slip
Carney must be flogged each day
After his ordeal with the press
For every stutter and blank look
He allowed reporters to address
Does he think of Hillary talking
About phone calls late at night?
Saying he’s an incompetent wuss-
And it turned out she was right...
Oh, thanks. We love her.
A+++ Hillary was right, and she will probably be our next prez. Can you imagine Hillary v Jeb? I shudder.
The word sounds the way some sinister, foreign bad guy would pronounce it:
“Revanch iss a dishhh best serrved cold ”
The word is of French origin, and the second definition arose from the more or less semi-official French foreign policy from 1871 to 1914. The policy was meant to reverse the result of the disastrous Franco-Prussian War and recover the lost provinces of Alsace-Lorraine.
Pets are the best for a smile every day...
No, I won’t imagine that-I don’t want either one of them, and Jeb Bush doesn’t need to even get nominated-I’m more than willing to work to see someone who is not a rino get nominated and elected. Let’s see a candidate who doesn’t promise any bread and circuses at all, and who slaps down IRS, snooping and control totally-and makes every adult responsible for their own lives and behavior.
This is not a monarchy, and we do not need any more political dynasties or “royal” families-leave that to Britain.
Guess what? The Steelers report to camp tonight, but the Pirates are still relevant.
All of a sudden sports editors have to really think about what to put on the front page.
A history buff. How interesting.
currently waiting for the Sears repairman for my dishwasher. He just called to say he is on the way. He asked if we have a dog. i said yes, we have two. he said the company policy has changed, could you please make sure they are SECURELY LOCKED IN ANOTHER ROOM before i arrive. ten to one the guy’s an arab. having the dogs leashed i can understand. LOCKED IN ANOTHER ROOM sounds ridic to me.
Our cocker spaniel, Peanut, was in her wire kennel one day when the gas man came in to read the meter in the basement. She lunged for him and broke down the entire kennel and flew at him growling the whole way. He made it into the stairway and I got the door closed. I had to restrain her till he left, as her kennel needed to be put back together. Never saw anything like it, she was a gentle dog otherwise. She just went berserk that day.
my two could quite possibly lick someone to death, but never growl at or bite anyone. I have heard cockers were a bit temperamental.
There waa a Huma haiku thread yesterday.
well, the girls and Rowan all thought Buffy was terrifying yesterday. They screamed in fear all day while Buffy ran after them in glee at having “playmates”. took Rowan till 8pm that night to finally pet her. Buffy was zonked on the floor when he finally got down next to her and petted her. I knew it would take all day. the girls still want a puppy of their own though. LOL
Did you see about the lady in Britain who worked for the BBC and she called for a taxi for her daughter and requested a "non-Asian" (read: non-Arab) and was told that was racist.
It somehow got public and she got fired.
It helps to know that "Asian" cab drivers in England seem to like to take females to secluded areas and rape them. Especially if they call for a ride home from the pub. It's all kept hush hush, of course.
we are only one step behind Britain.
Maybe you are, but not around here. ;-)
Speak for yourself......I have the Ukrainian Russian family and a Pakistani family behind me. The family from India down the street moved. There are two more families who are from Pakistan or India...who really knows. The Lebanese family lives up the street and the Hong Kong family on the street behind me. And I live in a little redneck village in upstate NY.
Is this your new baby?
