I was brought up with pets and livestock-I’ve tried to be without a dog twice-when my 13 old German Shepherd died, and after we lost the old Chow MrT5 got as a puppy-not successful at all, either time. And I could never live without a cat for more than a few weeks...
My husband is allergic to most animals - horses cause him to wheeze and dogs/cats usually end up causing a very quick harsh reaction with red, itchy eyes, nose, etc. But he has had very little reaction around our daughter’s dog - we’ve been shocked to be honest. His sister came to visit and her dogs caused a quick reaction - but if he hadn’t had such a time around animals we would have had dogs all along too!
