We are already seeing a large consolidation of "Health Systems" here in NE Ohio, translated as the buy-out/mergers of smaller hospitals. I think we basically have a choice of two "hospital systems"...all the original, independent hospitals (and their doctors/employees) are now affiliated with one of the two mega-systems, which means of course, the policies of the big two are incumbent on everyone.
I wonder how long it will be until my independent small clinic/practice family doctor gets the ultimatum: "comply with the system policies and regulations, or be forced to close your practice, since you are no longer permitted to be 'affiliated' with a 'legitimate' hospital"????
Insurance is one thing. The quality of actual health care is another, and my G.P is as good, ethical, and up-to-date as any other doctor, if not more so. I don't want an "assembly-line" doctor, and it's unconscionable for the so-called ACA to make it so.
Ping for Ohio list - same here as in Oklahoma!
