My doorbell rang an hour ago and when I opened the door there was a flat package on my porch. The package had my address but not my name. I saw that the package said "Dallas Cowboys ticket office" on it and I said to my wife, "I bet that these are season tickets." I opened it up and sure enough, there were 2 sets of tickets to every Cowboys game this year. There was also a letter to the guy that has his correct address on it as well. I took the tickets to the address listed and no one answered. I tracked down a neighbor and she said the guy doesn't live there anymore and is renting it out. I finally ended up calling a Cowboys contact number that is on the letter and left a message. I don't know how much season tickets are but I can't imagine not having to sign for them.
Is scalping a Cowboy action?
It might be a trick to get you to go see the games.
Did you need my address to send them to me? LOL
ouch
Well, the guy exists, so you should ask his tenant how to reach his landlord. Don’t leave the tix with anyone- give them to him. He paid for them. That is th right thing to do.
Depends on where one puts the comma (or pause).
I snickered at your post. Good one!
Try attending a game with those tickets. I imagine the mystery guy will be their waiting for you.
Tickets these days are bar coded and get scanned when you enter the stadium. If the rightful owner reports them lost or stolen, the Cowboys can nullify the tickets and they will be worthless.
Continue to do the right thing.
Sell them on the street for a bargain price to someone who can’t identify you. They probably won’t be usable for the one who buys them though
I’ll just wait to hear back from the ticket office and they will probably just send the guy a new set and void out the set that I have.
“Ill just wait to hear back from the ticket office and they will probably just send the guy a new set and void out the set that I have.”
Just return ‘em to the Cowboys. Don’t wait for the Cowboys to contact you. Send ‘em via USPS 2-Day Priority Mail. That way, you have a receipt proving that they were signed for by someone in the Cowboys organization.
My first thought as well.
LOL - post of the day!
Cue Admiral Akbar pic, “It’s a trap!”..
You might end up going to see Romo, fumble, throw an interception, cry, get sacked 10 times.....
2 tickets to each game that my BIL won, was worth around $10,000 before taxes.
Bada-Bing!
Ooops... Did I do that?
OTOH, I know a person who had supposedly constantly refrigerated prescription insulin delivered via UPS to her home address, when no one was home to sign for it.
When she found it the next morning, it was no longer cold, since there were no dry-icepacks involved in the package.
In Florida, in the summer.
She didn't have the money to pay out of pocket prices for another batch of the medicine, so was forced to use the degraded batch.
Naturally, it was nobodies fault but hers, and nobody was willing to do the right thing, and replace the bad batch.
The lack of a two dollar charge for “signature required” shippers fee, and the cost of a dry ice pack saved the drug seller about $5.00 on the $800.00 prescription they billed her insurance company.
But somebody got a promotion for cutting costs...
