AOLs Moviefone has the first preview trailer of Lone Survivor, the film adaptation of retired Navy SEAL Marcus Luttrells first-hand account of a compromised 2005 special-ops mission that left three of Luttrells four-man team dead, as well as 16 other U.S. soldiers who attempted a daring rescue, and his harrowing tale of survival deep in enemy territory.

Don’t know why he didn’t just portray himself.
Cool. Let me know if it’s good.
Will do.
Thank you.
I love Wahlberg in “Shooter”
Especially the final scenes when he got into it with John McCain.
LOL!
I think he’s mighty banged up still.
Shooter was OK, but the book and Hunter’s Bob Lee is so much better.
Still I couldn’t pass up a movie where Danny Glover gets smoked.
A lot of this was filmed in the Manzanos down the road from me and the Sangre de Cristos near Santa Fe. Good to know New Mexico is a “body double” for Afghanistan. ;)
Btw, to all, if you're not watching Beck's documentary right now on the Blaze TV, about the show in Salt Lake, you're missing something truly inspiring...
God’s country, as long as you have water on your land!
Sounds like Luttrell and other SEALs were onhand to make sure the movie is as accurate as possible. Definitely on my list of films to see in the new year.
Wells still going OK, but I’ve had less than 3” of rain this year.
Yes, and this is one that I also plan to see at the theater as soon as it is made available. :)
Plus he's still dealing with a strong case of PTSD, which was not helped when those idiots killed his therapy dog, DASY, a few years back.
I give Europa 4.5/10. Could have been much better if it had right stuff.
Thanks for the review.
May or may not go see it (nothing against the military, but I have some animosity to “brotherhood” movies for the time being for personal reasons).
However, I’m familiar with the battle it’s based on and I’d just like to point out the fact that, as heroic as our soldiers were in it, it probably would’ve never happened if our ROEs weren’t based on the idea of our soldiers being expendable for the sake of civilians. Remember that when you’re watching this movie.
Putting it bluntly, in the name of protecting A SINGLE afghan civilian who immediately ran to inform the terrorists of the SEALs, we lost numerous fine young men, numerous pieces of advanced equipment, gave the very man the SEALs were sent to eliminate a propaganda victory, and the Taliban reoccupied the area three weeks later.
All of that, for one civilian who wasn’t a civilian.
