Just citing the info from the “expert” quoted in the piece. Oh, well, I guess some kitties can be different.

Our cat likes a lot more than the brief pets that this expert says they prefer, as well. He would let you pet him for hours if you wanted to. Unless it is very hot, his favorite thing to do in the evening is to sit on my husband’s lap and mooch his TV snack.
They’re all different Red! An experienced owner knows how to nurture and bring out their cat’s personality. I’ve had cats since I talked a feral cat out of the bushes when I was two. My Mom taught me to say “Here kitty kitty. I named him Big. I’m now 68, and have never really been without a cat.
Love it about Mao responding to people back! Beaux and Mom have their “conversation” in the morning as she is reading the paper and drinking her coffee. He starts, she responds back and they'll keep going because Beaux HAS to have the last word. I wish I had a video camera because I know it would be a youtube hit.
Part of it is personality and part of it is how they were raised. My little barn cat does not like his tummy rubbed but my larger one who we had from the first just loved tummy rubs. He would wiggle in delight and if you stopped sooner then he wanted he would find the next person and bug them until he had his fill of tummy rubs.
I love that collection of furballs!
Not all cats are alike. Some do. Some don’t. Anyone making generalizations about cats, just as anyone making generalizations about women can be generally right but dangerously wrong when they try to apply said generalization to either in all, or even most, cases.
And people say mixed marriages don’t work!
Well said.
Your kitties are gorgeous! I’ve never seen a Persian in real life.
Whoops, Ragdoll. I’ve never seen one in person either.
Don’t you just love interactive computer cats. Andy hounds me when I’m on the computer too. A hounding cat. Who knew? So charming, so much fun.
As far as I’m concerned, A house without a cat is not a home. I can’t imagine being without one! Mao has this wonderful thing about bappin’ me with her tail.
“bap! I want attention. Bap! Bap!”
Both of them look like professional pictures. Stunning kitty
Give her a kiss from meow
Hopefully I'll be recovered from my surgery in time to baby sit again, I really fell in love with that little fur-ball, and I miss her!

I couldn't agree more, but I haven't been able to guarantee I'll be able to care for a kitteh due to health problems. Last Christmas I got to babysit the sweetest little girl for just over 2 weeks, and while I had an incredibly wonderful time, I also realized that about 2 weeks was all I could handle for caring for a kitteh.
But during that 2 weeks, if I wasn't at work (or out shopping for cat litter or cat food) we were inseparable. She would spend hours on my lap, napping or allowing me to pet her while we watched TV. And I discovered how much she really loved to play (I bought a toy like the ones Jason Galaxy uses), and she was SO ATHLETIC! Her mommy couldn't believe it when I demonstrated it to her, and to this day they spend some time playing with that toy.
We also slept together every night, and it was so wonderful to have this little white ball of love come running when I got home from work, and she could hardly wait to get into my lap!
I really miss having a little furball to love, and one who loves me back (her mommy told me that she was pining for me, and would get agitated about the time I'd get home from work for nearly 2 weeks!)
