“Orpah” is the correct spelling of the name, Naomi’s daughter-in-law in the first Chapter of the Biblical Book of Ruth.
“Oprah’s” parent got it wrong.
And Spellcheck has it wrong too! LOL!
So he spelled it wrong but thinks he should have won anyway. As I understand it, this was a combination correct answer/spelling bee and he thinks he was cheated because he misspelled the word. What a typical left wing response.
That never occurred to me, thanks!
Now if he had been black.....
And, of course, “Orpah” was not an admirable character. Unlike Ruth, she left Naomi to go back to her own people and her own gods. So even though she had briefly belonged to the Family of The True God, she decided to leave.
If I wanted to name my child after a Bible Character, I would want to make sure it wasn’t one of the bad ones! LOL
AND I would make sure I spelled it correctly!

He would have lost anyway. Does Jeopardy let the runner-ups keep their money (if greater than zero), or does only the winner keep the money>
Great link - thanks for posting!
What a moment. Amazing win.
So sad for darling Thomas Hurley - horrid parents for questioning the rules.
Your YouTube link shows CLEARLY how wrong his answer was, however unfortunate.
I’m certain thats one of the rules.
