Card, heavily involved in the film of his story, took a different take on it.
Glad to hear that Card is involved, otherwise I'd expect to see that the super-secret twist for the Hollywood version is that some evil corporation was the real force behind the alien invasion, or some such nonsense.

My question is this: Is this part of a series?
Ender's Game is the first in a series, but the books after Ender's Game are really nothing like the first one. They are entirely different stories which just used some of the same characters. I highly recommend Ender's Game for reading, but the next couple that I tried I did not care for.
