The Big Broadcast is a Sunday night tradition for families throughout the WAMU listening area. Each week, Big Broadcast host Ed Walker offers listeners priceless recordings of popular radio programs from the '30s, '40s and '50s. Priceless, especially, for a man whose first sentence as a child was, 'Turn the radio on.'

Hello. Hello. How’s everyone? The rain actually stopped for little bit this week and sun was out...

There’s an error in the lineup tonight but what is there looks good. Don’t know much about Saint. I suspect we’ll end with Suspense...just as it should be...

Hmm. The kid has a “Tip Top” comic. Must be a “Nancy and Sluggo” fan.

Hi, Vision. I’m “late.” We worked today, and then I got to doing laundry and watching Fringe online (my mom got me hooked on that series).

Anyway, other than the rain, how was your week?

Hi Gina, it was good. I was too tired to cook anything so I'm been living off frozen bbq which is fine.

Never heard of Fringe. Am looking forward to tonight...

“Fringe” was a five-season series on Fox. It’s really very good. It’s too bad they cancelled it after just five seasons. It had decent ratings.

I get so sick of “Hollywood” writing murdering “Christians” into crime plots. It was going on even back then.

You know, it seems like in the last few months all the thread regulars except you and myself have dropped off.

I've thought about this. Why people come here. I can't figure it out but for me, I am as passionate about OTR as when the first thread started. Maybe even more now with wifi radio.

Anyway, just sharing a few thoughts.

Yea, that was odd, but these are supposed to be true stories.

Yeah, supposed to be true stories.

Vision, I don’t know about others, but we love the old time radio shows very much. It would be nice if there were more here. It makes me kinda sad that there’s not more interest. I guess the communist takeover of the United States has lots of people “checking out,” not caring about anything but the imminent doom of our nation. Can’t really blame them, but it would be nice to see them again and to see new people who love this as much as we do.

I want to like the Long Ranger but usually feel flat after them. Gunsmoke they are not.

Yea. I'm hoping this repulsive baby's voice doesn't ruin the show.

I”m amazed they didn’t pay the extra money to bring a real child in to play these parts.
