Eh, it may be a right-to-privacy issue, a fundamental right that has enormous value.

When I am ready to buy, I will definitely consider that. Its not that much better than I got. I might be able to add 2GB of RAM to this thing.

The Geek Squad concept is cute for about 2 seconds until you realize the creeps they’ve hired would still be creeps without the white ties and black shirts.

I think that they don't know their collective ass from a hole in the ground and can't fix hardware is a big problem, too.

Once upon a time they were a separate entity but were absorbed into the Best Buy collective.

And you are absolutely correct. Lots of Fear Uncertainty and Doubt (FUD) as they attempt to scare the hell out of unwitting customers. System optimization my fanny.

The point is, it’s wrong no matter what was taken.

Exactly right!

If I catch a thief breaking into my fridge and making himself a peanut butter sandwich, I'm gonna shoot him.

That's my peanut butter sandwich!

Many moons ago while I was a poor state TV employee, I broke down and took a few classes on how to fix PCs and the like. I didn’t want to be at the mercy of yo-yos that I saw at a BB store ever. Besides I had to do something that had to be better paying for a living. That took a while to get going.

This is an accusation. Not one shred of evidence has been offered in the article.

This is from another article:

On May 13 of this year, an employee of the Geek Squad, informed March that he had nude photographs of her and to let her know "they were circulating," according to the lawsuit. The photos were the same ones that had been on the computer that had been accessed by the Geek Squad, according to the lawsuit.

The lawsuit states that the employee had been sent a link from a site called Pirate Bay to the photos by another employee. The lawsuit states that March notified the general manager of the Best Buy store and on May 17 she was contacted by a Geek Squad official who informed her he had discovered the culprit.

The Geek Squad official told March that actions were being taken to delete evidence of her photographs and images and requested that she do him "the favor of not asking who the culprit was."

Important details. Now the accusation has substance. I’ll be watching for more as the lawsuit goes to court.

Thank you!
